How SpecPlain handles corrections
SpecPlain is a privacy-minimal static reference site. It currently does not collect user messages, run a contact form, or publish a personal email address.
Correction standard
Factual claims are checked against the source hierarchy described in the Editorial Policy and Sources and methodology. When a standards revision, manufacturer datasheet, or calculation review shows that a published statement is wrong, the affected guide should be corrected and its update date changed when the correction is material.
Why no public personal address is listed
The site is intentionally separated from any individual publisher identity. Publishing a personal inbox would undermine that separation and create a new stream of personal data collection. SpecPlain therefore prefers not to offer a message channel until a project-only channel can exist without exposing personal information or creating a paid dependency.
How readers can verify a claim now
Technical guides list their most relevant primary sources near the end of the article. Readers can follow those links directly to the standards body, program administrator, or manufacturer documentation used for the claim. Calculators show their formulas in the article so the result can be independently reproduced.
What would qualify as a material correction
- a standards revision that changes a supported capability;
- a unit conversion or geometry error that changes a displayed result;
- a manufacturer datasheet value that was transcribed incorrectly;
- a statement that incorrectly turns an optional feature into a universal guarantee;
- a broken primary-source citation that can no longer support the claim.
